Thanks for KW's recommendation, Me and ZP explored this Japanese style cafe 2 weeks ago, and we really love this place!
Haikara style cafe is owned by a Japanese couple. This place attract lots of Japanese expats, the first time we been there for lunch, almost quarter of the place is occupied by Japanese.
They have very nice coffee which using syphoon for brewing. very cool Japanese barista who seldom smile, husband who is tall and wife who is skinny and cool. The interior is very warm decorated with simple
wooded tables and chairs, some Japanese decorations and they play nice cosy music.
Most of their food is in cafe style, so you will not find sashimi sushi or soba there. What you can find is choices of sandwiches, sphagetti, and donburi.
From my experience of having good Japanese food at Singapore, this is a place which i strongly recommended if you are looking for good coffee, good ambience and quality food. I will go back again for sure ^_^

咖啡。

咖啡。
曾几何时我开始对它有兴趣?对它不离不弃?对它又爱又恨?
一天的生活里没有了它就会觉得浑身不自在?
那应该是当我踏入社会工作的时候吧。6年前?
刚开始是受同事们的影响,下午茶时间都会想来杯热腾腾的咖啡舒压,当时我对咖啡的认识都是从本地咖啡店所买,
新币一块钱= 咖啡+奶精,或是三合一咖啡。

过后,公司附近开了家专卖咖啡豆的小店,小店主人对咖啡有一定的认识及喜爱,所以自己就渐渐对咖啡的要求转为意式咖啡 - 不加奶精不加糖的钟爱,价钱也从新币一块提升到一杯三块半,甚至于接近二十块的价位。

爱咖啡,除了爱它带给我味蕾的刺感之外,其实也是好让我看书时有个栖身的地方。
爱上咖啡后,发现喝咖啡原来也是个潮流,人人手中握着一杯咖啡,似乎是一种地位的象征 (笑)。

以前大家对咖啡的要求好像都满足在咖啡连锁店。过后,精致的小店,专心及对咖啡充满热诚的爱咖之人也越受欢迎。
大家对咖啡的要求不再只是表面,而是更深层的,他们会探索它的origin, 它的酸味,它的苦味,它的aroma, body 以及其他其他。

而最近斌开始研究咖啡,所以自己也开始努力探讨咖啡的真善美。也开始爱上人类对它的执著,以及相信咖啡也是一种艺术~

Back to Singapore 2011

Went back to Singapore on 21st May 2011 to participate Saturday in Design, first time held at Singapore. Previously was at Sydney/ Melbourne.
This SiD Singapore is only for ONE day, and i thought it was TWO days like what Sydney did. Participants brands are not that huge and fantastic like what I saw at SiD Sydney 2 years ago. It was kind of disappointed actually :(
But, I managed to meet up with my long time no see friends since I left Singapore almost 10 months ago! It was a good catch-up with them!
Overall, Singapore is still the same, with more and more new development building up....

Found this "i love taimei" at Bugis Village. The name of this shop attracted us, the food & drink here are not bad and price reasonable :_)

Sanuki Udon at Taman Desa

Found an authentic Japanese Udon shop at Taman Desa, delicious and the price is very reasonable!

Dishes that we tried:
Egg Udon (RM5),
Wakame Udon (RM6),
Additional toppings - Wakame (RM1), Kitsune (RM1),

I strongly believe the rest of the foods will be super tasty too! Will surely return in future :)

Pray for Japan

It was a very shocked news about what happen to Japan last week. Japan is such a beautiful country, but now it ruined by earthquake & tsunami. I hope Japan can stay tough and slowly recover back to the beautiful country.
I send an email to my host family at Hokkaido to check about their status, thanks god they are all fine and not really affected by the disaster.

Canoodling at Bangsar Village

Have been eye-ing for this noodle house at Bangsar Village few months back. I'm attracted by the design of interior. So finally i'm here last Sunday. with 2 of my buddies for dream business talk :)

Every table come with a mahjong table & crayon. It serve as a "table cloth" and also for people to do "vandalism" on it while waiting or brain storming.

Overall, food in Canoodling is not that fantastic, but is not expensive. All noodle cost at RM 9.90. Anyway, i love the place and the idea of crayon with mahjong paper!

Additional item:
Went to Marmalade at Bangsar Village. The food is not that fantastic and quite costly.
